There is a fascinating concept that we all emanate a subjective atmosphere or climate. The atmosphere that surrounds an individual is a result of their thoughts, feelings, and actions. This atmosphere can either attract or repel. We have all felt this even if we could not name or identify it.
In our schools, the atmosphere created by the attitude of the teacher emanate a nurturing, warm climate or a climate of fear and anxiety. The classroom climate must be a sacred space. The classroom is where children feel, think, grow, learn, and create. The climate of the classroom must be nurturing. Nurturing is an act of understanding, patience, safety, caring, compassion, and love.
The consciousness, attitude, and behaviors of the educator in school creates a sacred space that acts to elevate everyone in the building.
